Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal
2 Cadets recently represented the Squadron at the annual Royal British Legion Cadet Awards Dinner, sponsored by BAE Systems.
Although the Squadron didn’t win any of the Awards, the Cadets did meet a number of local dignitaries including Lord Shuttleworth. Over the 11 years the awards dinner has been taking place, the Cadet forces of Lancashire have collected over half a million pounds.
The Squadron collected almost two and a half thousand pounds during 2010 for the appeal, with the two Cadets who attended, Cdt Bobby Saxton and Cdt Katy Lenney, collecting over a thousands pounds between them. Congratulations to both of them and to the Squadron as a whole.
This years Poppy Collections will be taking place in early November at a variety of locations, including ASDA at Clayton-Le-Woods.
