Cdt Cpl Parker receives his Instructor Cadet Lanyard

967 (BAe Warton) Squadron is proud to announce that Cdt Cpl Michael Parker has passed this course and was awarded the Yellow Lanyard, which signifies his status as an Instructor Cadet, by Wing Commander Steve Molloy during the recent 2013 Annual Formal Inspection.

The ATC recently changed the way that Senior Cadets are trained and achieve the status of ‘Instructor Cadet’; requiring Cadets to take a Methods of Instruction course. Cdt Cpl Michael Parker is the first Cadet on the Squadron to have attended and passed this course.

Flight Lieutenant Steve Faulkner, the Squadron’s Commanding Officer expressed his pleasure at Cpl Parker’s achievement:

The new Method of Instruction course is a demanding day and since completing it Michael has taken to his instructor role with a great deal of enthusiasm having obtained some of the skills required. He is now looking to develop those skills through regularly participating and leading Squadron lectures.

This change is part of a variety of changes to the Cadet training syllabus, including the revision to the 1st Class Training Syllabus which the Squadron has successfully implemented and the brand new online exams. Keep an eye on the Squadron website for news on the new exams.
