Squadron Structure
Each Squadron consists of the following personnel:
ATC Staff Members
The Officer Commanding (OC) of a Squadron is usually a Flight Lieutenant or, if the Squadron is very large, a Squadron Leader. The other staff members are:
Flying Officer (Fg Off)
Pilot Officer (Plt Off)
Adult Warrant Officer (AWO)
Adult Flight Sergeant (F/Sgt)
Adult Sergeant (Sgt)
Civilian Instructor (CI)Some Squadrons, normally those situated close to an RAF base, may also have Service Instructor (SIs) serving with the Squadron. SIs, like all of the other posts, are also volunteers.

ProbationersNew cadets join the Squadron as a Probationer for a few weeks 'on trial'. During this time, they will be introduced to the Sqn and start their Basic Training. Throughout this period, they will be able to attend most Squadron organised activities; other activities will become available to them as they progress through their membership and the classification system.
